Permaculture

Working with nature, not against it.

Permaculture is an approach to creating resilient, sustainable systems by observing how nature works and applying those principles to the way we grow food, care for land, build communities, and use resources.

At Seven Generations Innovation, we’re interested in permaculture not simply as a way of gardening, but as a way of thinking. How can the choices we make today help create healthier land, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future for the generations that follow?

What Is Permaculture?

Permaculture brings together ideas from ecology, agriculture, conservation, design, and community building.

Rather than relying on systems that require constant inputs of water, energy, chemicals, or labor, permaculture asks us to design systems that become healthier and more resilient over time.

That can mean growing food, conserving water, improving soil, creating habitat for wildlife and pollinators, reducing waste, or simply learning to see our relationship with the natural world differently.

What we grow today shapes what comes next.

Where It Meets

Where people, place, and possibility meet

Permaculture goes beyond gardening. It brings together ecology, food, water, land, and community to create systems that can sustain themselves and the people who depend on them. From rebuilding healthy soil and conserving water to growing food and creating wildlife habitat, permaculture offers practical ways to turn environmental stewardship into everyday action.
